Vintage..a fashionable come back!

Today at work ( hehe thanks to my nice boss #daddy'sgirl ) as I was checking out the news I saw this story on an 80's style that is making its way back.  Now as you can see I am inspired to write a blog about some of my top 3 vintage things that have come back that I really like/love.

Betsey Johnson 2012 Fashion week

1. Cripmed hair...ah a true 80's hair style that I like ha! This one of those things that it is just fun and although I am 100% sure it damages the hell out of your hair, for one day I think it is worth it, so long as you keep those baby hairs down and tamed and don't go by the time less southern rule the bigger the hair the closer to god ;) ( don't worry I am from the south I know how to put the " T" in teased haha )

Forever 21 Peplum 1950's inspired skirt

2. Yay to this! I love the 50's fashion style, it breaths class and elegance but hey that is just me. Now when you look at a true 1050's peplum skirt actually any skirt from that time it is stopped at the knee or just below, as you can clearly see this is 2012 take on the classic style. I really like the skirt this is one of great items that you can dress up or down and it day out with girls kinda outfit.  Also a side note to this one above that you see I think the color choice is amazing I like peach just can't wear it seeing how it does not work very well with my skin tone.  Links to the skirt will be place down below!

oversized jacket 60's trend 2012 take on it

3. Over sized equals cute size haha! Love these I my self want one maybe not in those colors shown above, seeing how a lot of my closet is filled with black ( I am trying very hard to pull my self away from that and add more color) but I would with out a doubt rock one of the over sized coats. These are  great for this time of year, and thing oversized to simply spells comfy and cozy plus with all the holidays coming we all want to hide away that food coma we are in, well at least I do haha #yummyfood

As you can see those are my top three loves for 2012 fall vintage trends, from the hair to the cozy coat, you got the best. As always thanks to anyone that reads please feel free to share my blog with anyone leave comments and subscribe.

Cover Girl Makeup review

Cover girl is one of the timeless classics that every girl seems to start out with and builds off of. It is like a good foundation to getting better with makeup and learning  how the products work.  I have been using cover girl products since I was about 12 or 13  and now I happen to be 17 so I believe my thoughts on this product are true and I can honestly tell you how they work for me.

Cover Girl oil control liquid foundation

This product I must say at first I was impressed with, but as I hot into the hotter months, I found my self not liking. This foundation goes on light and smooth leaves you with a nice flawless finish but with in about two hours or so my makeup looked caked on and just looked awful. Now during the winter months this product did better for me. I still found my self applying powder to take the shiny away, and my skin tends to brake out when I am using this product. This were two deal breakers for me. Now Before I did start using the Estee Lauder, I bought a second bottle of this which I will be using in the winter months once again to test it and see just how well it looks. I am also not fond on the packaging, but once again one of those things you can live with.

Cover Girl pressed powder oil control

Impressed! I must say I do really like the way this product works, leaves no shine, and flawless look. My makeup doesn't feel heavy or looked caked on with this powder. The packaging is nice but I must say the hinging on it kinda cheap, My first one that I got it actually broke on me * tear* and I was quite upset by that and the fact that the mirror doesnt stay up it own, you have to actually hold it which in some cases can be a pain, but nothing that you can't deal with. I also highly recommend that you a power brush instead of the little powder puff that is provided inside. The powder puff does leave a caked on look where the powder brush leaves a nice smooth clean coverage all over.

Cover Girl Invisible Concealer

I am not that impressed with this product. For me it just didn't set right. It was also clumpy. Not I must say It matched my skin tone nicely and that I really like but it is once again, a start product.  I guess this is good if you just are in a pinch a need to rush out of the house and want to use cover up and not do your whole beauty makeup routine. Which by the way I have actually done that before and it worked well but not something I would wear everyday.  Packing is nice I don't have any complaints about, the want is nice and the tube is nice size.

Healthy Hair

I was once told that a girl's hair is her pride and joy, and to that I agree. For me personally my hair means a lot to me. It is my comfort blanket so to say and actually about a year or two ago I I was getting my hair cut and I got it cut really short and I was crying because it was cut so short I had an emotional attachment to my hair ha ha! But Now my hair is long again and with a recent cut and adding more layers to my hair I find my self wanting to go about keeping it healthier keeping away those awful split ends and having healthy happy hair :)

Here are some tips for happy healthy hair with food, shampoos and conditioners and a few more things that can keep your hair looking its best at all times! Now please take note that if you have fine or thin hair this is not going to make it thick or lush, so please keep this in mind.

I am a pollo-pesco vegetarian. So my diet is a bit restricted but not too much but here are some food that you can eat that are not only good for your body but great for your hair: Essential omega-3 fatty acids are needed to support scalp health some of the foods are Dairy, eggs, poultry, veggies, and fruits , and nuts and seeds just to name a few. You also need food that high in protein, vitamin B-12 and iron.

For more healthy hair tips from food click here: Feeding your hair and your body

Now some of the things that I do to keep my hair some what healthy ( you will see why I say " some what healthy" ) I do not wear my hair ties ( hair elastics, hair bands, etc.) about the only time I do wear it up is in a bun, when washing my face, need it out of face because it is oily, other then that my hair is down and shining in the sun light. Now this I don't do but at some point once those awful gray hairs start to come in I will start to dye my hair. I highly recommend that you do not dye your hair it will damage it great, along with flat ironing it ( I always use a flat iron) Blow drying it ( this I also do) and curling etc. Basically any heating product you use to style your hair is going to do some damage. Please always use heat protecting products this can help with heating damage and keep those split ends under control!

long and strong! plus silky smooth :)

If you clicked the link above it also shows and tells you about deep conditioning. This is a great way to get silky smooth hair and help repair it ( to some extinct) I personally do not do deep conditioning because my hair gets so oily and it is already pretty smooth. I don't want to add to my oily mess ha ha! A lot of the ways you can do this is simply from all natural foods that you get from the store.  here are some links to deep conditioning recipes, see you really are feeding your hair ;)
Culy Locks
hope for the damaged!
( please be sure to check the link above it gives two recipes for deep conditioning)

Hair products I use!
I have use a Number of nice products as well as a whole lot of just pure awful, but none the less here are my top products that I recommend!

Ren Pure
Garnier Fructis
Aussie ( I also get my hair spray from Aussie It works great and has an amazing scent to it!)

As you can see there is many ways to keep or get your hair healthy you just have to work at it. Thank you to everyone that is reading be sure to comment and tell me what you think or what you want to hear about be sure to share as well!

Estee Lauder double Matte foundation review

Yay posted on the actual date my blogs should be posted on! That is a first ha ha. Well Between moving, work, and school I have now set aside two dates that will have blog post that is Tuesday and Friday. I was unable to post last week, just super busy and couldn't get too it but here we are now posting a review so enjoy :)

please note that the bottle is not actually this color, it is the same color as the foundation color you buy.

I have been using this foundation for over a month and I can not say one bad thing about it.  I know a lot of fashion and beauty gurus use Estee Lauder foundation. the packaging is very nice it comes in a blue box. The bottle its self is a nice and I have no problem getting the foundation out.

Once again I must say I am in love with the foundation! the product goes on smooth and doesn't streak. Also something I truly love is that it last up to 8 hours and does an amazing job with keeping everything oil free. Being that for my job I am out and about all day in the sun and heat it still looks great. I only need to powder up once twice at most. This foundation also doesn't leave my face feeling cakey and heavy. It blends really nicely and leaves an amazing look.

Over the weekend because I was moving I used my cover girl foundation ( I will be doing a review on cover girl products) I had to do a lot of touch ups and even though my makeup felt light and I was still having to pack on tons of powder to help not look shiny. Now I know what you are thinking "Hello you were moving and sweating." yes that is true but while wearing the Estee Lauder to work I sweat am out in the sun and it stays in place and I still look good. Over all I give the foundation two thumbs up! I with out a doubt will be getting more.

Soon I will be doing product reviews about more Estee Lauder product along with a makeup haul, cover girl reviews and other makeup product. As always I hope you enjoyed reading! Please leave comments on anything you want to see from fashion to beauty! Of course thank you to everyone that does read my blog it means a lot to me!

Fall Trends 2012

Hello everyone! Once again I am terribly sorry for not posting on my some what dated time, with school and family stuff going I am trying to find a small space of time to write, but to those of you that are reading my blog thank you! I can not thank you enough and hopefully soon I will be able to post twice a week and normal routine time. But as for now, we are going to talk about this years fall trends. enjoy :)

Well I have noticed that in the last few year the style was strongly into 90's grunge coming back to the neon 80's, which I liked but now we are going back a bit farther. 60's and 70's fashion styles, patterns and etc is making its way into our closets. Even the hair styles. I also noticed while at TJ Maxx one evening they had these flapper styles dresses with lace and tole ( not so cute needs a bit of work just my personal thought though)

The trends this season are getting back to simple with earth tone colors and dark browns, blues, etc. I like this for two reason 1. I like these colors they look good on everyone 2. In general I love fall :) ha ha oh and I am another reason to my list so 3. military style totally love!!

Haper's Bazaar

I really like this outfit in general and will try this season to put this outfit together because it is just so bloody cute!  the white skinny jeans and the navy style top with the military type jacket is a sure win for me. You can easily add a bomber jacket and wedge heel or Navy blue heel to this outfit you can also add black ballet flats. This also would make a cute office casual style.

FPE

Wow this is so 60's and I find it amazing! the way their hair and make-up is done right down to the bright colored leggings. In both outfits you find a nice use of colors and crazy pattern use. I like that! As well both outfits seem to be a bit " over sized" this over size jackets are going to be a big thing this season along with the fur. Yay to that keep you nice and warm that or you can eat a bit more hehe ;)

I hope you all enjoy new trends and really in brace them. I know I will!  thanks for reading, be sure to comment and share.
