Audrey Hepburn holiday inspired looked

Oh my goodness I had so much fun shooting this look and doing the makeup but aside from doing what I did in this it would be great for a holiday look.

With this outfit I used a white shirt and then paired it with a bandaged black skirt and with off black hosiery with patent leather black heels. The gloves are just costume glove and haha I came up with using a straw at the cigarette ( creative I know) I got the idea from the breakfast at Tiffany's and the pearls went with the idea of the outfit.  The shoes came from payless, the pearls and the white top came from Charlotte Russe, the black gloves came from icing,  off black hoses were from JcPenney, bandage skirt forever 21.  Now if you are just dying to know ha I got the straw from a cafe I eat at everyday haha.

Who inspires my fashion

Over the Holiday weekend I was thinking it would be nice if I show you who inspires my fashion and why talk a little bit about why they inspire me in my fashion.

Audrey Hepburn is amazing I adore her style. She is so classic and lady like. Her style really speaks to me because she is just so girly and I am also very girly. I draw from her simple style and the way she held her self so well and I really like that.

Marilyn Monroe she is so stunning and a sex icon in her day and I draw from that. She was a rebel in her time in both the way she acted and with out a doubt her style and inspires me to take risk in my clothing as well.

Heidi Klum, a Victoria Secret Angel and beautiful model. Here style is so edgy and just always trying some new and I like that about her style. She is great at mixing two blends of style together and daring. With out a doubt some one that inspires my fashion style.

Nicole Scherzinger for the love of all of man kind this women is beautiful. She has been my top inspiration from such a young age. The way she styles her self is amazing, from her hair to her make up right down to her clothes and shoes, she just sparks this amazing light in my creative side for style.

Kim Kardashian I know a lot of people have mixed feeling about her but I like her. She is pretty and daring when it comes to fashion. She works with what she has and is not afraid to show it. I am more of the curvy nature and she has taught me to not be scared to show my curves rather then hide them.

Tyra Banks....who doesn't like Tyra? She is daring and strong and can rock anything she wears. I like that because just like Kim she is curvy and is not afraid to show that. She lets her energy shine through her fashion and that inspires me because I show my emotion through my fashion.

As you can these are the wonderful ladies that inspire me to be the person I am and with out a doubt inspire my style. Ways to use a Chocolate brown sweater

So the other day I was going through my closet and I discovered this chocolate brown over sized sweater and nothing spells comfort like an over sized sweater! So before I ramble on here are two ways that you can style an over sized sweater.

 

As you can see in this first look I took the sweater and paired it with dark denim jeans and for my shoes I kept them pretty simply with just some light brown knee high heeled boots and I would pair this with a fun colored bag like this ( seen below)

So this is actually what I wore Tuesday and it is so comfortable! I feel like I want to curl up on the couch and map something like that haha but I paired the sweater with sweater leggings or you could also pair it with just plain black leggings. Now a little secret is that I am actually wearing two sets of leggings the first set its the plain black leggings then I have the sweater leggings under it. Now I am sure that you are wondering "  why is she wearing two sets of leggings?" Well the first set ( plain black ones) were very badly see through and I did not want to go around letting everyone get a free peep show, so I add the sweater leggings. Now I could have worn just the plain sweater leggings I am sure that is what you are thinking but that would not have worked because, the sweater leggings were also some what see through mainly when I bent over once again I did not want to give anyone a peep show. Now That I wore that outfit all day I came to notice that you will be nice and toasty in the outfit. I was kinda on the warm side and maybe that is because it was some what warm where I live but I actually like that I can wear this outfit during the winter and not freeze me bum off. As for my shoes I went with plain black ankle boots, and it looked really good. With this outfit because there is so much texture I would not go with a crazy purse I would stick with something simple like this ( seen below)

Taylor and Cosmo ( what were you thinking?)

So yesterday during my lunch break I stopped to pick up a copy of Cosmo, I was highly disappointed. Cosmopolitan has ( and will always) be one of my biggest inspirations in fashion and I like swifts music but in two counts I am going to call them out on their choice in fashion.

who ever put together was not in their right mind. Taylor is seen above sporting Kelly Wearstler - Shopbop , Chan Luu, Vanessa Mooney. I really do not like this outfit, once again I do not know what they were thinking these two colors clash! Maroon and purple just do not go together at all and I have no idea what gave them the inspiration to do this it just looks really bad. No just so I am not all negative Nancy on this blog post the colors do work very well with her hair and skin tone, that is more then I can say for the next picture down below.

Swift killed it in this outfit and not in a good way. I think the nude colors of this dress just looks all to wrong with her hair and skin tone.  The shoes I like but I think that Taylor should have gone with more color. She is a pretty young lady that has beautiful fair skin and blonde hair and the least that she could have done is go with some color, like purple, red, light blue ( believe you get my point)

Now lets take a look at some of Taylor's better dressed moments.

These are just a few of Taylor swifts I think she has an amazing style and that she is stunning but I strongly think that cosmo make a mistake and that she made a mistake with that dress seen above.

My makeup must have's

 Well for starters YAY to me because I edited all the pictures on my own so yay :) I am proud of my self ha now because I go on lets get started.

 My first makeup must have is the Estee Lauder Pure Color eyeshadow. Estee Lauder has some really great eyeshadows, and They blend so easily and they look really good on. I really like having the Dark blue color has a pop of color eyeshadow it is fun and really adds a new feel to your makeup.

L.A. Colors eyeshadow is one of my palettes that I have had for a while and as you can see I use it a lot the colors that are in this palette are great because you can go really light with your makeup or you can go really dark with it and I like that because it is has so many uses which is great because you get more for your money. As you can see I use a lot of the darker colors and used all of the white eyeshadow. I really like to do my makeup dark during the fall and winter and this is for sure my go to palette in the fall and winter seasons I always find my self reaching for this one. Some of the colors tend to go on light so you really need to make them on but other you can really get the less is more thing going on.

Maybelline New York is another one of my go too palettes. I use this one more in the spring and summer because the colors are a bit lighter but they are nice because you can easily take it from a day look to a night look and I have done that because. Another great thing about palette is that on the back it shows you a number of different looks that you can do and I really like that. As you can see I  have already hit pan on my off white eye shadow I use that one a lot mainly for my base eyeshadow and brow high light. These colors are very easy to blend the only thing is that you need to use eye makeup primer because as the day comes to an end you can see that your eye makeup has fallen and faded a bit and then honestly you just look as great as you did in the morning so, eye primer is a must for this shadow palette. 

I am beyond in love with this foundation! I can not rave about it enough because it really is just that great. It goes on and blends amazingly. Being that I have oily type skin I was really skeptical if it would actually control that oil and what do you know, it does. I find my self not needing to apply press power or blot. Also something that I really like is that I find my skin is clearer while using foundation, I hardly have break outs. Another plus is that this foundation has SPF in it now normally when I use anything that has SPF in I find that the product is super greasy and of course we do not want that but once again with this product I don't get that. I know that Estee Lauder is cost a lot more but really this is something that I advise you invest in because it works wonders and just looks so amazing and I love it! A down side though is that this product does run a bit dark for my I am not sure is the lady made a mistake or what but I really really have to blend this out so that I do not look like I got a bad spray tan.

This has to be the best liquid eyeliner I have ever used! The formula is great and goes on so easily, the tip on the eyeliner is AH-MAZING! I actually learned how to my cat eye/ winged eyeliner with this eyeliner. I have used drug store brands and they suck ha. Also the tip does not bend and I really like that. So A+ on this liquid eyeliner.

Mascara and Primer...love love love, I do not know how on made it in the makeup world with out using this stuff and brand because it really is amazing. It is so great. Using this mascara and primer I have noticed a difference between the drug store brand and the Estee Lauder, my lashes just look so much better.

 My white eyeliner and black, I could not complete my makeup with out this stuff because it is just that great. My white eye liner I got a Sally Hanson's Beauty Supply store for just a $1, and for a $1 that is not bad it works amazing and blends so well. I feel that it really completes my makeup look. The black eyeliner sadly I have used so much that the label has rubbed off and I do not remember where I got it. But it works and blends so easy and just so smooth and creamy I use this mainly on my bottom lash line something on my top lash line just depending on my mood I mainly have been going for the liquid eyeliner but it works and blends so nicely. 

As you can see these are just a few of my beauty must haves. Fashion Rant-- jean shoes

Where I found these crazy things

Are you kidding me? Are you really kidding me? I want to know who created these very ugly shoes right now! Fashion Police need to make an arrest because these things are very ugly.

DaniKshoes ( on Etsy) one of the people that makes them sells them for $140 ( oh mama you can get something from Zara that looks a hell of a lot better for that price!)

I just would like to know where she got the idea from because really things are awful, I can not tell you how much I despise these things. A few questions come to mind when I look at these things

1. What will you wear them with?

2. how to do you get them on and closed?

 Since I am already on this rant of the shoes I thought I might pop by the lady's Etsy shop and give some of her other things a look over and see what I could find ( see what other horrors she makes)

These ( seen above) are just some of the things I saw. Now I am all for making a fashion statement and being seen but this right here is just no...OK no! something that should not be worn at all and that is just pure ugly.  And like I said before with the money you spend on these awful things you could get something way better.

I am pretty sure that the women that makes these shoes will never see this blog but if she does.

Dear, Ms. Dani

Can you please attend fashion school and also stopping making these shoes because they are pretty awful. You can go back to making shoes if you want after you attend fashion school.

Outfit Creation! - Thanksgiving dress editon!

Wow everyone really seems to like these outfit creations that I do :) I actually really like doing them! But I thought that since no one wants just choice I would do another Outfit Creation for Thanksgiving this one being a bit different from the first one of course but before I ramble on even let me go ahead and start the blog.

As you can see with this outfit we went casual chic with the dress and lace stockings. I believe by mixing the shear fabric with the lace you get a nice mix of textures. Because it is getting so cold and we want to stay warm we add the houndstooth trench coat which looks great adding yet again another mix of texture even when you have it closed it will look good against the dress and the lace stockings. For out shoes, I really wanted to do something different and add a nice pop of color. So I went with these pretty red beauties that just add a whole new feel to the outfit. and it looks really good against all the black in the outfit. For our purse I went with one of my favorites, a Fluff bag that is just too cute! With our jewelry I went edgy and did some conversation pieces, with the alarm clock ring and the cross linked earrings you will for sure be eye catching at Thanksgiving lunch or dinner.

Working with your body shape!

Hello my pretty people! Well as you can see from the headline we are going to talk about working with out body type from ( this is how I have heard the body shapes be called please keep that in mind) Banana, Apple, Pear, and hourglass. When picking out clothes knowing your body type can be rather important because it can can really play a role in how you dress and the clothes you wear.

Know your body shape!

OK there are many other names for a "banana" shaped body but for my purpose I that is what we are going to call it. When trying to find out what shape you are you want to start by asking this simple questions. Are your measurements about the same for your shoulders, waist and hips? Two women that have this body shape are Cameron Diaz and Nicole Kidman.  Now we come too the part of " what loooks good on my body?" 

Since banana shaped women don't really have curves we want to improvise, starting at our bust line we want to get a good bra. By having a good bra that is going to help lift what you do have and create some curve. Please keep in mind that is you have a very small bust line you still want to wear a bra.  Now when you starting putting on tops you want to go for tops like: batman, dropped sleeve line, batman like sleeves, flared, cuffed, ¾ length, loose short sleeves. Once again by doing that you are going to create curves and that is what we want to create. When dressing our lower half we want to create a nice bum, which is easy to do. Try an A-line skirt or boot cut jeans. Skinny jeans will look best on you because they will not only create a nice bum but some hips, and that is for sure a plus!

Somethings you want to try and stay away from are:

Clingy fabrics or Fitted clothes
Long straight fitted lines in. dresses, pants and sleeves
Tops, shift dresses with square necklines
Dropped waistlines
Bulky, heavy textures
Double breasted jackets
Narrow skirts and Mini skirts will make you look even squarer
Vertical stripes
Chunky wedge shoes

Apple, when working with this particular body shape, the question that you should ask your self is Are you thicker in your mid-section than you are in your shoulders and hips? A few women that you might know that have this body shape are Queen latifah and Brook Elliot. But when is comes to dressing what do you wear? For starters just like stated before you want to have a really good bra to support your girls! Most apple shaped ladies have a nice sized bust and having that means you want to have a good bra to support. With our tops we want to try and stay away from large patters, when you wear these large patters you draw attention to that middle area and you don't want that. So try and stick with subtle top. If you feel confident in your bust section you can also wear " V-Neck". Once again most apple shaped women have really nice legs so we want to show those off ladies so a short skirt will look really good. If you do wear jeans I would advice you stay away from skinny jeans. You want to go with flared jeans and do not wear jeans that do not have a pocket that is going to make your bum look flat you want to go with jeans that have pockets. 

Ah the lovely pear shape ( that is what I am) We have bigger hips and a smaller top. A good way to tell if you are a pear shape is look in the mirror and when you do see if your hips are a bit bigger then your chest, and shoulders. A couple of women that you know with pear shaped bodies are Eva Longoria and Rihanna. Now the question comes to mind what do pear shaped ladies wear? For starters you want to start with a good bra to support your girls. When wearing your tops this is wear you can go a bit crazy because that is where you want to draw your attention. You can wear the bright colors and patterns, you can also get pull off a V-neck because it will create a bigger bust line. When you are picking out jeans you want to wear flared jeans they will look best on you. Now as a side note I wear skinny jeans but when I do I wear a long shirt that covers my hips and bum and the jeans are dark jeans. 

 

 Hourglass......You lucky ladies! I would love to have an hourglass figure! How can you though that have an hourglass figure? Once again looking in the mirror, if your chest and you hips are about the same then you have an hourglass figure. You want to show those wonderful curves! Go with clothes that are clingy and and some what tight because it will help show off those curves. When going with a bra you want something of course that is supportive. You want tops with those classsic cuts such as the peplum blouses for example those would look great on your. For your bottoms you want to go with boot cut jeans they are really going to compliment your body and you can also rock a pencil skirt.

Outfit creation - Thanksgiving editon!

Happy late Halloween everyone and if you do not celebrate Halloween then happy late Wednesday :)
anyways before I ramble on lets start with the blog!

Since Thanksgiving is coming up on us pretty quick as well as Christmas and the New Year I will be posting  several blogs on some outfit creations for the Holidays, I know I want to look my up most best and I am sure you do. So now on to the creation!

As you can see for shirt I went with a mustered yellow, I really like the I guess we can call them burnt yellow colors because it looks so great in the fall, I know a lot of people start going with the browns and blacks. Don't get me wrong I love wearing those colors, but just because we are entering into the fall and winter months it doesn't mean that you have to fall pray to wearing the normal dark  colors.
For the jeans I went with a dark colored denim, I believe that it will compliment the shirt very well, and of course as you can see they are the " ripped" kinda which I totally just love. As for my jacket since it is a bit chilly out now, I went this this super pretty gray jacket that ties in the front. I really like the fact that it ties because it is something different from the normal jacket that buttons or zips up and I think that it has a nice fall feel to it, plus wearing this jacket being that it ties you have a great reason to eat more food ( yes I am a food junkie lol!) As you can see all the colors in this first part of the outfit blend really well together.

With Shoes, handbag, and jewelry I kept it pretty edge. With both the earrings and bracelet being black, I feel like both items make a statement but they are not over powering your outfit. For the shoes I just kept it simply with some black platform pumps. I feel like these will best compliment the outfit and really pull it together. As for my purse, I have a strong ( very strong) love for this bag, it is edgy and the studs just add this flare to it that I really like. You will for sure stand out from the crowd with this outfit, and hello your purse can double as a weapon hahaha! '
