Tips for clear skin and My face cleaning routine

I will be the first to admit that I don't have the greatest skin. I have huge pores, get break outs, the whole works, but here are my tips for getting pretty clear skin and my face cleansing routine :)

* please take note that my skin type is oily so this works for me but it may not work for you just some helpful advice*

So my skin type is oily which I must say can be a true pain, but as I have gotten older I have learned how to deal and work with my skin and also the best ways to treat it.

 Each morning I start off by washing my face. This is key to my face routine because I wear makeup everyday but the weekends. So I start off my splashing warm ( not hot) water on my face a few times and letting it open up my pores and I take dove soap on a wash cloth and gently wash my face making small circles. After I finish washing my face with the soap I rinse with warm ( once again not hot) water until all the soap is gone. After I have completed those first two steps I splash cold water on my face. By splashing cold water on your face it closes back up your pores. After using the cold water I pat dry my face, do not rub just gently pat. By rubbing your face it will not only irritate your skin but it will also help create those early wrinkles. Once my face is completely dry I use my Estee Lauder Time Zone creme with SPF. I always use the day time Time Zone creme because as stated before it has SPF in it. When we go out into the sun we want to protect our skin. I do not use very much just enough to cover my whole face. Also I might add the more you get out in the sun you will have better looking skin and clear as well. We have a love hate relationship with the sun, because it can hurt us but it is very good for our skin and health. 

After doing all of the above I apply my makeup but this is very important and to be honest something that I do not do enough but you need to make sure that you clean your makeup brushes! Now I know some of you might be wondering why this is so important and believe me I was asking my self the same question. When you use your makeup brushes, the dirt and bacteria on your face get transferred on to your brushes, now the next time you use your " dirty brushes" that same dirt and bacteria get onto your skin then the result is a breakout, which we all do not want. Also you should clean your brushes after each use simply so that the makeup products do not mix, then do a deep clean once a week. ( I will be a doing a " how to clean your makeup brushes blog" very soon).

See this picture has the right idea. Do not touch your face, I must say I am guilty of doing this a lot lol. Ok now I say do not touch your face because the germs, dirt, and bacteria will get on to your face and once again it causes all the problems we don't want, so try to touch your face as least as you can.  Another thing that should not touch your face or touch it as least as it can is your hair. At night because I have a fringe ( bangs) I clip them back to keep some of my hair out of my face, if your hair is oily or you are not going to wash your hair for that day try and pull it back or do some simply half up do's because the oil and dirt that is on your hair will get on to your face and will once again cause those problems. You also want to make sure that you clean your bedding ( pillow cases, blankets, sheet) anything that touches your face because that can cause break outs as well, so anything that you use on your face make sure that it is nice and clean.

Healthy, healthy, healthy! This might just be common knowledge but the more water and healthy food such as fruits and veggies, you eat the better your skin and so many other things will look better. The more greasy, fried, and fatty ( bad fat) foods that you put in your body, your skin will react to that. I am a pollo-pesco vegetarian ( I only eat chicken, fish, veggies, and fruit) and I have noticed a huge difference in my skin. So diet plays a big role in your skin. Also as painful as it is for me to say this ( because I love sweets) do not eat a bunch of sweets not only is it bad for your healthy but it is bad for your skin, just like I stated before what you feed your body your skin will react to it. I love sweets, but really had to cut back on them and once again I have noticed a huge difference in my skin. Some other foods that are good for your skin are: spinach, mussels, sweet potatoes,flaxseeds, cocoa powder mangoes, papaya, apricots and tomatoes. Those are just some of the yummy fruits and veggies that you can eat to help your skin. Water is also very key in your diet, once again not only is it great for your health but it is very good for your skin, by drinking more water you flush out the toxins in your body and it is helps your skin look great which is what we all want.

So not not only to be healthy but also for good skin as well is you want to work out, and by work out I mean break a sweat. By sweating you are clearing your body of toxins because you are sweating them out and you are also getting healthy and fit. Make sure you shower after your sweat fest lol or you not only would smell awful but you would be just clogging up your pores again which is not a good thing.

Now for my time routine I start by using a makeup wipe remover and try my best to remove all the makeup being gentle around my eye area of course. After doing this I use hot water ( as hot as my face can stand it that is key) and splash it on my face a few time to help open up my pores and rinse away and dirt or bacteria then I apply a layer of noxzema, ( with my face wet) I let this sit on my face till the noxzema seem dry and then I go back with the hot water and rinse my face. Now after rinsing the noxzema from my face I take a luffa and use the dove soap and gently in a circle motion clean my face with that. After I finish with the soap I rinse with the hot water till all the soap is gone and then rise a few times with cold water to close my pores.  Once I am done I pat dry my face and use apply my repair oil from Estee Lauder and my Time Zone night creme and another highly important thing is sleep make sure you get lots of sleep just like Audrey Hepburn haha!

outfits creation

Today I am going to try something new and do outfit creations of things that I would wear so I hope you enjoy :)

woollen military coat - zara

As you can see I started this outfit out with a military style jacket. I am really liking the fact that the military look is in so that is a nice a piece in this outfit. For the jeans I do a simply dark skinny jean, I think with the dark color of the jacket and the light color of the shirt it would look nice. With the top I went with a plain white lace top, I believe that it would soften the look and also one of these outfits that can go from day to night.

As you can see with the boots I stuck with the military style, I think that these add a nice touch of edge to the outfit.  The bracelet is one of these pieces that just really stand out and would look good against the shirt. The earring are really nice and add a pop of color seeing that this outfit is a bit dark. with the purse I still kept with the military/ edgy style the studs just add a nice spice to the out.

My Favorites in Fashion and Beauty!

I have lots of favorites but I figured that today I would break down my top six fashion and beauty favorites, three being beauty and the other three being fashion. So lets starts before I start to ramble on haha.

Whiskered Skinny Jeans - Forever 21

I love skinny jeans...for the love of all things if they are ripped I am twice as likely to buy them.  I first did not really like skinny jeans it was just something about them that made them look like they are just not comfortable, but wow I was really amazed. Of course I noticed that other girls were wearing them and to me I just did not want to conform and go with what everyone else was wearing but doing my back to school shopping in 7th grade I tried someone just to try them on and that is when the addiction on the skinny jeans started, it was also when my emo/scene days started but that is just a totally different story for a different time. Although I do have a rule for when I wear skinny jeans. NO tennie shoes whats so ever! I only wear uggs ( yes I still wear uggs lol ) boots/ heeled boots, Ballet flats, or flip flops.  I feel like wearing tennie shoes with skinny jeans it just looks weird or atleast it looks weird on me haha.

Ok all in all I love a good pair of pumps these are just extra cute because they have the spikes and that adds a bit of flare to them. I am kinda short, or least I feel short haha I am  5'4 but in general I love a good pair of heels. They make me feel tall and sexy! Of course who does not want to feel that but also they make my legs look even longer. For a short girl ( ok normal size I guess lol!) I pretty long legs so that is a plus. But I love heels the taller the heel the better!

BLTD Lace Peasent top - Rue 21

I have for some reason really been loving lace. I have no clue why but I over the summer got a lace top and from there on out I just feel in love it. I know some people may think it have this old lady feel to it but done up and worn in the right way it looks really well. I have this classic feel to it and if you pair it with a leather jacket or some spiked heels you can have an edgy style that is girly and chic yet so vintage and edgy and something about that just speaks to me, that I really like.  None of that probably made any since lol but to me it does and if you love lace like I do then you might be able to understand at least half of what I said lol!

mega hair spray mega hold - aussie

This hair spray smells so good, and it really works. Aussie in general is a really good brand and I can highly recommend using it but ah it just smells so freaking good. The other night I curled my hair so that in the morning I would not have to worry about and sprayed it with some of this hair spray and WOW! It held all night long woke up and had the same great hair still, now I must say that is the clear way or saying that this product works.

Time zone - Estee lauder

To wrinkle or not to wrinkle...ha not wrinkle! haha This product is really great of of course as I stated in a one of my other blogs I am only 17 and I do not have wrinkles but none the less it is never to early to start. I use this in the morning because it has spf and it makes my skin feel super soft. I know it cost a lot of money but this is something that I would recommend getting it is well worth the money.

I actually have no idea where you can get this flat iron, because I got it for Christmas but I use this thing everyday ( no joke)  It works really well and it heats up so fast, I actually curl my hair with this flat iron and it works really well. So two thumbs up from me :)

Makeup of the day - Dark Blue editon!

Today I am trying something I am doing a makeup of the day, I normally go for different colors of brown, with black eye liner  and black mascara, with a lipstick or lip gloss. but any ways on to the pictures, and more details below!

That is my eye lol as you can see I did blues and black so let me just go into that colors that I am wearing right now then into a more detailed about it. Pearl White, light brown, Navy Blue, Midnight, Black eyeliner, Black mascara, white eye liner.

For my brows as you can see I really need to pluck and fix ha but anyways I filled them in with an Estee Lauder eyebrow pencil, and them smoothed it out with a eyebrow brush. At this moment I can not tell you what color I used for my eye brow just because I don't really pay attention to that but hey at least I know that it is Estee Lauder.
For my high light color I used a pearl white color and blended it out really well, once I put my high light color on I used an light brown color all over my lid as the base color, and the since it was pretty light I didn't bother to blend it out I just left it. As we move along for my crease I used navy blue and although you can not see it, the blue is very matte. For my outer corner I used midnight blue, and just blended everything very well together. I do not know what brand the first three eye shadows are but I can tell you that my midnight color is Estee Lauder.
For my eyeliner I used just a black eyeliner pencil, and blended it out a little on both the top and bottom of my eye, and used white, on my water line.
With my Mascara I used two different kinds plus the Estee Lauder lash primer. In order of use: First I curled my lashes and applied the eye lash primer. Next I used the Estee Lauder mascara on my top and bottom lashes, and curled once more, them after that became dry I used " Show Time" mascara on curled my lashes one last time. Now just in case you are wondering why I curl my lashes so much is because I have small lashes and they do not curl very well so I just curl them a lot and pretty much get the look I am going for by the time I am done.
For my outer corner depending on my mood sometimes I will, add a little of my high lighter color there or add a little of my white eye liner but because I have such bad allergies, I normally do not add anything there and it looks OK to me.

Estee Lauder review

Last month I did a product review on the double matt oil control foundation ( click HERE to see it) But now I am doing a review on all my Estee Lauder products :)

Double wear zero smudge liquid eye liner 

With this product I really do not have anything to complain about, honestly the tip of the brush is great to do a cat eye look and it stays on all day, when they say zero smudge they mean it.  As you see if you click the link they offer it in both brown and black I have the black in it is a nice bold color, It looks really good! Once I have nothing bad to say about this product.

 I have a Dark blue color called " Midnight" If you clicked the link you will be able to see, also as it states next to the eyeshadow it is limited edition! This eyeshadow is AMAZING! the color is great and it also stays on for age just like before I have nothing bad to say about this product!

Doublw wear stay in place flawless wear concealer

I must admit that before I got this concealer I never wore concealer it was just liquid foundation then press powder, but once I got some wow! I mean the magic that this stuff can do is amazing. It blends so well, and it is also true to its name, it stays in place and it leaves a nice flawless finish. As with all my Estee Lauder products I have nothing bad to say about it!

This lipstick is like butter! Seriously wow, I have never used a lipstick like this it is amazing, My lips feel so smooth after using it, the shade that I go is Candy shimmer. When you first see the color it looks kinda dark but it goes on light, which I like.

Lately I have not been wearing a lot of lip gloss I main have been going for the lipsticks. But I really like this one, the color is nice and bright and has a wonderful shine, now the only things that I don't like about this product is the brush it flat on both ends and kinda floppy, or at least it is like that for me, and trying to get some of the lip gloss off so you don't look like you kissed a pink sparkly glossed up doughnut it not that easy, and as you tell probably with that it causes you to have away to much lip gloss on which it not a good look. Now other then those two things I really like this lip gloss and also the color I have is fuschia pink so extra bright!

Sumptuos extreme lash mulitplying mascara

Freaking LOVE this stuff! You have no idea how amazing mascara till you try this. Since wearing this mascara my lashes look great! The brush is really nice and the also not once has the mascara been clumpy for me I am able to get every lash and just looks really nice and completes my look.

lash primer plus

If you are just starting out using makeup and or want to know how to have long lasting mascara or perfect looking mascara, well my dear this is key. Once again one of these products that I have never used and believe me it makes all the difference. I have nothing bad to say about this product and I highly recommend getting it.

Soft clean tender creme cleanser

I don't have dry skin but this is nice for this days when you just need that extra boost for your skin. I must say at first I was really confused on how to use this but once you finger it out it is really nice, all you do it just apply to your face and work it into your skin in circular motions and then wipe off with a tissue. If you have really oilly skin this is something I would recommend staying away from though.

Time zone

This above I can't really say if it is working or not, simply because I am seventeen and don't have wrinkles yet, but you are never to young to start using these cremes and stopping it before it starts. So that is why I use these plus it is a nice and leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth.

advance night repair

Now unlike before I can say this stuff works! You shouldn't put a lot on like the old saying " a little goes a long way" applies to this, if you put on to much it will leave your skin feeling oilly and have a grease look to it so I would not put tons on all at once, but it does work wonders and something that I would highly recommend that you get.


These are my Estee Lauder products :) and I really enjoy them I truly believe that any thing you get from Estee Lauder will be great, because they are one of these high end makeup lines, that you trully pay for what you get! These warm my soul right down to the core! Really there is nothing better then a classic black platfrom shoe. They go with everything and so easy to dress up or down. Heels are my shoes of choice and I above anything else would wear these the most simply because when you are a Fashion Guru as my dad likes to call me on a budget theses are just the perfect pick because as I stated before you can do anything with them.

Let me just say that these make me want to go out and club. Something about heeled boots and jeans makes me want to go clubbing, believe me I am not sure why, but it just does. Now boots are one of these great things that you can in flat form or heeled form and either way you go it is a nice way to make your outfit have more edge. From sexy go go girl for punk rocker, you really have a shoe that has many takes on it, and I think that is great!

Ah I love Betsey Johnson! Most of all I love the crazy and wonderfully blended together colors that she used in her shoe. Something going with a black, brown or even white shoe just seems plain. Instead of going with the cluster of earrings, necklaces, and  what nots, try a simple jewelry piece and show stopping shoe.  Being that the neon colors are really big this year these are great!

Fashion and season problems

Yesterday a Lady I work with handed me a catalog and as I was looking trough it I noticed that since we are in the fall season a lot of the time the weather in the region I ( or even you) live in do not match up perfectly with the season trends. I have pretty much lived all over the other US. From Organ, Idaho, California, to even down in the deep south like Texas, Mississippi, and Arkansas, as well traveled from state to state but that all together is a different story. Where I am living at right now, though it might as well still be summer, yes we are starting to some what of fall chill but but by the after noon we get back up into those 90 degree temps. and the fact that is it also very humid here so all in all the we come to the sad point where, we don't get to enjoy the fall colors, and trends till late November, but as a result for a lot of people here, we have to move out spring and summer outfits, into fall and some of winter.

So now lets go into this summer/fall/southern weather. Right now since we are in fall weather I am trying to get some of the colors going, like right now I am wearing a black blazer ( from TJMaxx), with a white tight blouse ( from old navy), with jeans( from JcPenny) and white peep toe sling backs ( from payless I also got my sunglasses here as well) and my purse is from Fluff. Now with that said even today running around town doing things for my work I was still pretty hot.

what I wore today

When you are living in the delta of the south, hell the south in general it is just hot, you can't going around nice cozy jackets, or as I stated in one of my later BLOGS  that I was talking about the over sized jacket trend, here you just can not wear that here it won't work.  Now to the people here in the town that I live, Jeans, tennie shoes, and a t-shirt, dressing up here is wearing a polo. Honestly speaking to the people where I live I dress as if I am in some big time city,  but I dress casual from a big time city.  Now part of that is that I use to live some what close to these big time cities so dressing as if you are in that type of setting is just fine where I am now the nearest big city is four hours away so the way I dress some what does not work. But being that I am as my dad likes to say a " Fashion Guru" and also I am not willing to let go of my fashion style. Below is an example of what people normally wear.

Homecoming pick apart

The month of scare and dress up is here and yet for the other bloggers that are doing Halloween based blogs I dare to be different, as we come into October many high schools and even Colleges are having their Homecoming game. If you are not from the USA,  Homecoming is when an American football team has a home game and normally they have a homing court with maids, and a Queen and King. In high school all the Students get dressed up and then after go to a dance. As for College they simply have a big party and tailgate leading up that game. Now as we enter our 2012 homing games I welcome the good, the bad and the down right ugly ( I must say this like when we look at our parents old photos and say " Mom! what were thinking the shirt is so awful looking hehe or at least that is what I do)

freshmen

1. I am seriously shaking my head right now. The only thing I even remotely like about this outfit is the shoes. Other then that I am about to tear this outfit apart! My dear what were you thinking? The black part of the outfit ( I am thinking that it is a dress) the knit bat wing thing just does not work the fake leather and spandex part, that is just a no no! Now I do like that shoes I think heel ankle boots are a nice piece to have in your closet they great in the fact that you can wear them any thing,  and dress them up or down. Now with this lovey ladies figure I just would have done something different. like THIS.

2. I have three words for this dress....Show Girl and Vegas plus 60's mod. I honestly do not like anything about this dress not even those shoes and I am shoe lover! Well for starts the color is awful and not something I would pick simply because of her skin tone, it totally washes her out. The shoes as well get washed out by the dress. Now I do understand that she wants the main focus to be on the dress, I would have done a totally different dress and shoes to not only bring out her skin tone but her hair color. I personally would have picked this DRESS. It brings out her skin tone and hair and also the cut and style of the dress and also creates a more curve to her body shape, we don't want to be stick straight. Now these are the SHOES I might pick to go with the dress they add a pop or color and they have a nice amount of sparkle :)

Sophomore

1.  her dress makes me want to I have no idea what it makes me want to do but I sure don't like it! now her shoes I do like once again you have a staple piece and the color was a good choice but. The cut of the dress almost seems to swallow her and just once again the pattern I do not like. THIS is what I would have picked and kept the same shoes of course. Something about the dress I picked has a flare to it and a some what playful look, the dress seen above that she picked hides her body an, when you have no curves you want to work with what you have not hide it but doing stuff that seems baggy and loose.

2. Peplum :) if you noticed in my LAST blog I talked about the peplum skirt and how it is a making a come back from the 1950's with a new fun short take on it. The lady above I have nothing bad to say I personally would wear this my self, you have a nice pattern with the shoes, an besides leopard print is just as the color black it never goes out of style, it is just one of those staple things you sort of need in your closet. I keep saying you want to show your curves not hide them this young lady did just that. I give five stars!

Juniors 

1. Back to ranting about the no no's of these girls fashion. Pattern, Cut, shoes, the placement of the belt..NO! the pattern and cut as well as the length of the dress does this young lady no justice whats so ever. For her body type I would have done a baby doll dress like THIS DRESS The placement of the belt should have been much higher because then you have a nice flow if it is in fact placed higher. Now as far as shoes so once again I am just shaking my head, because for this young ladies legs she wants to create the long leg look, and with those heels and also the length of the dress it just is not happening I would have done THESE shoes, when creating the look of long legs you don't want ankle straps simply because it cuts on the leg, with the shoes I picked the white color with give her skin tone a darker look as well make her legs appear longer which both of those we want.

2. Rocking the 60's mod, I don't have a problem with but once again with this young lady also appearing to be shorter, we want create the long leg look, now I do like the color of the dress although I personally wouldn't have chosen that dress seen above I would have gone with this DRESS it has the same rich red color ( red I know it is brighter more of a strawberry color) but the flow of the dress is nice and also it helps with the look we are after. The shoe I have no problem with but they are more spring summer look to them I would have gone with a plain black shoe as seen HERE being that her dress is bright and colorful we want the attention to be there, but still wanting to get the long leg look.

Seniors

1.  Being that all three of these ladies are seniors I was the most upset with these three. They should know better! tisk tisk...This red number is just not working for me, and the shoes just do not go with outfit I seriously have no idea what she was thinking. This young lady should have gone for something like THIS being that this dress has the same features as a high low dress you and it also doesn't have the awful placing of the belt as seen in the red dress. Now These shoes I am worried because they do not go with this dress whats so ever! Something like THIS would have go nicely with the dress I picked above.

2. Once again I am saying no, you have young lady that is short and with that being you want make your self appear to be taller and have the long leg look going. This dress that she has picked just does not help her in any way. THIS dress would look beautiful on her, the cut is nice and would work with her body shape and the way sweet heart neck line is perfect. Now the shoes that she is wearing I do like they remind me of Rockabilly and I think are a good choice.


3. I HATE this outfit, I can not stress that enough. The color she picked on both shoes and dress I find awful as stated above with all the other girls this dress does no justice for the young lady. THIS powder puff blue color, would look nice on her no only would it compliment her hair but also her skin tone, as far as shoes go I would have done these PRETTY little lace shoes, I believe they add a nice texture to the dress and color fits perfect with the powder puff blue.
