Women and weight

While I was at work today and of course checking the news like I always do, I saw something very upsetting. And it actually burns me up a little. As a young women and also the older sister to a few girls I find it very very upsetting to someone as beautiful and  talented as the young women below Kelsey Williams    would even be remotely called pudgy.

This women is not even close to pudgy. I would just like to know who exactly decides what or who is considered pudgy, over weight, etc. etc.

As a young fashion and beauty blogger, who is always looking at fashion and models, you see this a huge portion of the time.

Yes there is a clear difference when you look at the two. Just because one is skinnier then the other does not make over the other pudgy.  When you are always hearing and seeing as well that this ( the above photo) is what we should strive to be I find it insane. We are human, no one should look the same. Just as our finger prints are different our body weight is also different. No two will ever or should ever be the same.

As I was saying before, being the older sister of several girls, it truly gets to me when someone like this writes a post about being under or over wight. One of my sisters is always working out and is always worried about what she is eating. Now I see nothing wrong with that, I think you should want to be fit and healthy, but I know that she is doing it for all the wrong reasons. When you always see something about weight in the mainstream media it will at some point start to affect you.

Almost every....I take that back pretty much every main stream media magazine, blog, tv personal etc. has talked about weight as some point. It truly is heart breaking for. I have family that struggle with weight problems. I feel awful seeing everything mainly made for women of smaller framed bodies.

I always ask myself these two questions. If it were you, would you want someone too do the same thing to you? My second question is...If that were your daughter, would you want someone to say or make statements like that about your daughter?

When you take such questions into mind it starts to really make you think before you write or say something.

I hope you enjoyed this little rant, and always thank you for reading. I hope this makes people think before that say or write something.

Cover Girl BB Cream review

Hello everyone! So I have not done a review in a long time, so I thought since I am trying the BB cream from cover girl I would do a review of it.  So lets start with this review!

So this is what the packaging looks like. It reminds me of a a mermaids ha or water either one works.  I find it very easy to use. I have no problems whats so ever getting the product out from the tube.

Pros - This product is very light. I am so far loving it! My makeup does not cake and it just feels really light. I feel a bit more natural wearing it.  A very big plus for me is that It does not take very much product to cover my face at all. A little goes a long way! I think the main thing for me though is that the product just feels really light on my face. Where I live it is very very humid in the summer and when I wear makeup I can just feel the makeup melting off and I can feel it being cake-y but with this I do not get that feeling.

Cons - Even though it is a tinted moisturizer I still find my self having to use concealer, but I do not really mind that. I really really do not like that I am having to use a lot more powder during the day. My face just feels and looks oily but I a thinking that is simply because it has SPF and my skin type is also oily, so those might and probably do play a role in that. But I just find myself having to apply a lot of press power to I feel and look matt.

Other than those couple of cons I really like the product and I am for sure going to keep using it. I also noticed that my skin looks a lot clearer and hey that is always a plus for anyone that wears makeup.

As always big thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed the short reviews. Please be sure to check back for me :) Please be sure to share and comment.

New hair cut - again!

Hey ladies! So here it is again...I got my hair chopped and layered! I love it! So basically I went to my stylist and I handed her a picture and told her this is what I wanted. This is what I went for.

this is the picture I handed the stylist
As you can see it is a very simple yet sexy hair style. I think it is great for summer, and I have been teasing the hell out of the roots, ha!  but here is the back and the front of my hair .

the back is stacked with layers as you can see and the front she just razor-ed it and did it so that it framed my face. I am totally loving this hair style! This is great if you have an oval shaped face. I takes like no time to style it, or dry it. All I have doing is blow drying my hair upside down to give it more volume and brushing ( with a round brush) it while drying it before I style it, I have gel mouse and the I straighten with the flat iron, and once I am done with that I tease the back and sides just a little in the front and top it off with hair spray. I totally love this hair style :)

Hair tutorial - Long lasting bouncy curls

Hello lovelies! So today I am bring you hair  tutorial ( in case the title didn't already give that away!) So Yesterday I thought I might try something new cause my hair is much shorter and I am actually considering getting it cut even shorter! Ah still thinking about it thought! But here we are enjoy the extra long blog :)

So let us get started with the hair tutorial.

Three hair ties, and a LOT of bobby pins.

hair dryers, as you can see I use CONAIR
hair straightener I use Style Element
and good ole' trusty hair spray that I always rave about!
  1. I just started by spraying my hair with a good amount of hair spray.  Make sure that you lift up the layers of your hair so that you get a little extra added volume and hold.
  2. After spraying your hair with hair spray you are going to take your three hair ties and section off you hair. I did top ( that was basically my crown and bangs) middle ( from the top of my ear in about the middle) and then the bottom section. I put the first two sections in separate buns. Now you will have one hair tie left, just leave it you will need it later.
  3. take the bottom section and separate that into two sections. I normally put one half on the left and then the other on the right and then break that down into smaller sections and start the process of curling that is what I did the whole way up my head when I curl my hair.
  4. take your straightener and use that to curl your hair. I find that straighteners ( at least for my hair) give a tighter and longer lasting curl.
  5.  once you curl the small section of hair take one of your bobby pins and I pushed the curl up towards my head and pinned it now the first time you do it this will not look right and it may even be a bit harder to curl the next section of hair  but once you do this a few time you become a pro and know what you are doing.  Here is what the pinned up curls look like.
    * Please ignore my outfit and the fact that I have ear buds in. I was actually getting ready for work and listening to music to get me going*
  6.  Ok now that you have mastered that go an do that all through out your hair.
  7. once you finish curling and pinning, you are going to once again spray your hair with hair spray while it is still pinned up.
  8. After spraying your hair you are going to take your hair dyer and turn it on low and press the cool setting and blow dry your hair, I did this for about two or three minutes.
  9. Once you have finished step 8 you want to take all the bobby pins out. Now you can either leave the curls as is or you  can brush them out a little with your fingers. I just brushed mine out.

This is what the curls looked like before I brushed them out. Because my hair is a lot shorter now I thought just had too much curl so I brushed  them out.

This is it! As always thank you for reading :) I know that my posting has not been as I normally did it in the past but I have been so busy and sick, and trying to balance everything so now I just post when I can. But hey at least I am trying ha! Enjoy your weekend and try not to party too hard ;)

Well hello! So Wednesday night after work I got my hair cut :) I took a before picture and then Thursday I took an after picture, which you can see below.

after

So because I know someone might ask, both of my shirts are from Old Navy. So I got the length too my shoulder blades, and then I did layers in the front that would frame my face and layers in the back. As you can see I trimmed my bangs ( fringe) to me a bit shorter. I really like it :)

Just a quickie blog today :) Have an awesome Friday everyone!

Get to know me - Beauty blogger survey!

Hey everyone so due too the fact I believe I am starting to get a little sick and my plans changed over the weekend I will not being posting what I really wanted to posted today which was a " Get ready with me" blog and I also have a killer headache right now but here are and I wanted to get at least one post in this week so I am doing beauty survey :) enjoy!

1. Is your hair curly or straight?

My hair is straight as a stick, I won't hold a curl at all.  One plus to my hair though is that it is super thick and lush. It not to dry or oily, basically on the perfect side :) I normally take a straightener to my hair just to make it extra extra straight.

Yes to get my hair like that it takes a lot of work. As far as how I deal with the length and what not. I really like for my hair to be long. When I was in grade school my mom made me keep it short and I had bangs and I hated it. As I got to 5th grade I let my bangs grow out and I was " bang less" for a while and I had not layers. Then in middle school I still kept it bang less and had it cut to about the top of my shoulders and I did not straighten so I was really think and now that I am thinking about it, that hair style would probably have looked a lot better if I would styled it in some way ha! after that I let it grow out and get really long. When I to be 14 I got it cut and layered and had a side swoop.  I hated the side swoop but the rest of it I really like. Just before my 16th birthday I got my hair cut super short, it was cut to my chin and I got side bangs. Since then I have let it grow out as you can see. I have had it trimmed just to keep the split ends as bay and as well I have kept the side bangs. I look better ( or to me I do) with side bangs I got a big forehead so they compliment my face ha.  You can also see and learn about this outfit HERE

2. What is your natural hair color.

My natural hair color is auburn ( red) during the summer it gets lighter and it looks a lot like it does in the picture seen above.

3. Do you dye your hair your self or go to a salon?

I have never actually dyed my hair, so I do not believe that I can really answer this question.

4. Do you wear the same style everyday or do you change it up?

Well I tend to switch it up, my style is kinda all over the map some days I am very girl, some days I am rocking a band t' shirt with some jeans and a blazer or just the band t' shirt. How I dress just depends on what I am doing that day or how I feel.

As you can see here I am sporting one of my favorite bands, I wore this to work one day. As you can see I have jeans on and a Pink Floyd band t' I did wear a plain black blazer and a black with silver studs belt and gray knee high boots.

5. Do you do your own mani/pedi or do you go to a salon?

I have always done my own nails. I would love to have them done at a salon one day though.

6. How often do you change your nail polish?

I use to change it every week, now that I have gotten super busy I do my nails and toes when I can. But I normally never wear the same polish for more then a week on nails. If I paint my toe nails I just leave them that color just up to a month.

7. Do you polish your toes during the winter or just the summer?

I love doing my nails so I keep doing it all year. Plus where I live you can wear flip flops sometime during the winter so I like to keep them looking good.

8. how long does it take you to put on your makeup?

Ok this is going to be one long answer ha! If I am really wanting to look just amazing and glamorous just I am mean down right dolled up It can and has take me up to 1 hour. Now on a normal work day it takes me up too 45 minutes. If I am in a rush I can be done in about 10 minutes.

this look right HERE is someting I whipped together in 45 minutes.

9. What do you do first, face or eyes?

face!

10.  Do you collect makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?

I kinda do both. Right now if you were too look at my makeup bag I have a ton of eye shadows but I really need to get me some more foundation. It just all depends. I normally ask for makeup for my birthday or Christmas and I figured out that way that I could get a lot of makeup and not have to worry about spending my own money on it ha.

12.  Do you do a full face of makeup everyday?

I do my makeup every day but Saturday and Sunday. I believe that your face need a break and a chance to breath. The only exception to that rule is if I am going out. If I am going out then I will put makeup on, now just staying home,  then I stay all freshed faced and clean.

13. Do you wear makeup when you are home alone or with your family?

Now you see I am going to reply in a complex way cause I am crazy with this ha. If I am with my parents and siblings I will go makeup free, I am with my favorite grandparents then I am also makeup free. now around my other family I wear makeup. If I am alone then I will not have an ounce of makeup on at all.

14. Will you leave the house with out makeup on?

I really really really hate to leave the house with out any makeup on. But I have do it a few times.

15. How many high-end products do you own?

I own too many to count

16. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you are getting dressed?

A lot of the time I plan what I am going to wear the night before, but sometimes if I am too tired then I will get up and just get dressed. I really do not like doing that though. I much prefer to plan my outfits the night before simply because I have this problem where I will switch what I am wearing a million times and be rushing and that is not a good thing of course.

17. How often do you change your handbag?

Not very often which is a shame I have a ton of purses but I use the same purse for a while then one day I decided I want to change it. I need a big purse though cause I carry a lot around with me.

18. What time do you get up and go to sleep?

Monday:  wake up: 7 am - sleep: 11 pm
Tuesday: wake up: 7 am ( if the 3rd Tuesday of the month then I get up at 6:30) - Sleep: after 2 am
Wednesday:  wake up: 8am - sleep: between 7 and 9 pm
Thursday: wake up: 7 am - sleep: 11 pm
Friday: wake up: 7 am - I normally just go to bed when ever I am tired on Friday.
Saturday: wake up: what ever time I feel like - sleep:  what ever time I feel like
Sunday: wake up: what ever time I feel like - sleep: 11 or 12 pm

19.  How often do you workout?

once or twice a week, just depends on what I am doing that week.

20.  Left handed or Right handed?

I am dominantly right handed.

21. How tall are you?

I am 5'4  :)

22. Do you speak a foreign language?

I can speak bits and pieces of: French, Korean, Hebrew, Arabic, Italian, German

23. How many pets do you have?

Well I do not really have any pets, I use to have kittens and puppies when I was really little, and in my early teens I have 3 dogs and two cats.

I get on here 3 days a week and I write a blog twice a week.

No I have never really done that.

28. What kind of camera do you use?

I use my Ipod, or a Canon

29. How often do you clean your house?

I still live with my parents, so I really do not do a lot of the cleaning but I clean my room once a week, and I will clean other places in the house for my parents.

30. What is your favorite color?

Pink and in just about every shade, and black

31. Do you swear?

Yes ha, but it is very rear that I do, it kinda depends on who I am around.

32.  What are you doing the rest of the day?

Hmm lets see, I am going to finish work, type another blog, and see someone very special to me :)

Day out on the town - Outfit ideas

So since I am going out Sunday I am of course already thinking about what I will wear. When you are getting ready your outfit really sets the tone for everything else. How you do your hair, makeup, maybe even the nail polish you were ( if you are like me you want everything to go hand in hand.)

Just as quickie this is generally how I go about getting ready. I get a shower once I am out I lather on the lotions and face creams.  I get dressed and then I dry my hair. Once my hair is dried I will style it or I will do my makeup then style my hair. After that I am good to go. All this takes me about me about two or three hours. It just depends on how much I get distracted ( dancing and singing in front of the mirror haha!) or how much I am texting or talking on the phone. It just depends on the moment.  Now I have become a fan of tumblr because I have figured out that I can get some amazing outfit ideas from there. So lets check out some of these amazing outfits!
